The options set here and the options in the Basic Strategy control how the game is played.

General Options

CHIP VALUE - The value of each chip (unit) bet.

CUT PERCENT TO END OF SHOE - How far from the end of the shoe the cut card is placed. Once the cut card comes out then that signifies the last round of the shoe.

DELAY IN TENTHS OF A SECOND - The delay time between cards being dealt to simulate the speed of a casino dealer. When you start to practice counting you might set this to 30 (three seconds) and then eventually reduce that to about 5 or 7 in order to simulate a fast dealer.

Double Down for Manual Player

A manual player will always be prompted HDoubleButton.gif (226 bytes) for a decision by Learn-To-Count BlackJack™ just as in a real casino. (automatic seats have their decisions made by the game based on Basic Strategy options and tables)

To reproduce when you are allowed to double down by your local casino you can tick what two card scores will cause prompting to occur for soft and hard hands.

If double down is not allowed on soft hands than the ticks for soft hands are ignored. (Please see double down options under Basic Strategy.)

Manual Players

Tick which seat you want to control yourself. The other seats if pressed down will be played by Learn-To-Count BlackJack™ automatically using options and Basic Strategy.

Betting

AUTO PLACE BETS FOR PLAYERS WHEN CLICKED - If this is ticked then when a seat is clicked (pressed down) the CHIPS TO BET is placed as a bet.

Bet Button

The bet button on the blackjack table is an easy way to place bets quickly. The options here determine how those bets are placed.

HOptionsBetButton.gif (2539 bytes)

ALL SEATS - bets are placed on all seats

MANUAL ONLY - only manual player seats have bets placed

NON MANUAL - only non manual (automatic) seats have bets placed

ALL PRESSED DOWN - seats that are pressed down have bets placed

NOT PRESSED DOWN - seats that are not pressed down have bets placed (uncommon)

Terminology

Different parts of the world call the same thing by different names. You can alter to suite.

Splitting Aces

Maximum number of times that aces can be split.

Ask Insurance

Manual players are asked if they want insurance. If insurance is taken then an amount that is equal to half of the original bet is placed as the insurance bet.

Insurance should never be taken unless the true count in the hi-lo system is 3 or greater.

Pause Game

If set to YES then the game is paused when the SHOW/HIDE count values button is pressed to SHOW THE COUNTS. This eliminates the need to press the PAUSE/PLAY button as well to pause the game while the count is shown when you are practising counting.

Shuffling

Learn-To-Count BlackJack™ shuffles the cards in a very efficient manner. Just click on the shuffle button whenever it is enabled. The cards are then dealt in exactly the same manner as in the casino.

Cards Dealt List

This list shows ALL cards dealt during the shoe including the card burnt at the start and at the cards leftover at the end. As you play a shoe this will prove to you that cards are being dealt correctly.

Also the count is shown next to each card so you can determine where you made your mistake if you lost count.

Cards Dealt Count

In addition to the cards dealt list Learn-To-Count BlackJackprovides further proof that cards are dealt correctly and that all the cards of a shoe are used. The Cards Dealt Count shows the number of times a card has been dealt during the progress of a shoe.
